Thornage Hall

Thornage, Norfolk

We were invited to help care for Thornage Hall, a beautiful Grade II* listed building near Holt that’s been around since the 15th century. Originally a Grange for the Bishop of Norwich, the hall needed some careful repairs to its roof and exterior to make sure it stays strong and looking its best for years to come.

After securing Listed Building Consent, we worked on simplifying the roof lights at the back - not just to freshen up the look but to help the roof last longer. Our team drew up a detailed plan and managed specialist stonework and repairs, always keeping the building’s rich history front and centre.

Results

The repairs have given Thornage Hall a strong, refreshed roof that’s built to last. It’s been really rewarding to help preserve such a unique building and keep its character intact - making sure it can be enjoyed and appreciated for years to come.

Renovation of Listed House

Renovation of Listed House

Purslows was brought in to breathe new life into a beautiful but long-neglected Grade II listed house on Elm Hill - one of the most historic streets in Norwich. The building dates back to the 16th century, with some parts believed to have survived the great fire of 1507. After standing empty for years, it was bought by a local conservation charity determined to bring it back into use.

New Build Waterfront House

Purslows was commissioned to deliver the technical design and project management for a new home on a riverside plot in the Norfolk Broads. The site already had planning permission in place, and our role was to develop the scheme through to completion - securing Building Regulations approval, specifying and tendering the works, and managing the build on site.
