Conversion of Listed Barn

Brinton, Norfolk

Purslows was asked to help transform a Grade II listed Norfolk barn that had seen better days. We took care of securing all the necessary permissions - planning, Listed Building Consent, and Building Regulations - and stayed involved throughout the build to offer expert advice and keep things on track.

The barn’s historic charm was front and centre in the project. We kept alterations to a minimum, preserving key features like the haylofts and stables, and worked them into the design. The hayloft bedrooms are accessed via galvanised steel spiral staircases, while inside, we kept things simple and authentic with natural stone floors, lime plaster walls, and exposed galvanised steel trunking for the electrics.

Renovation of Listed House

Renovation of Listed House

Purslows was brought in to breathe new life into a beautiful but long-neglected Grade II listed house on Elm Hill - one of the most historic streets in Norwich. The building dates back to the 16th century, with some parts believed to have survived the great fire of 1507. After standing empty for years, it was bought by a local conservation charity determined to bring it back into use.

New Build Waterfront House

New Build Waterfront House

Purslows was commissioned to deliver the technical design and project management for a new home on a riverside plot in the Norfolk Broads. The site already had planning permission in place, and our role was to develop the scheme through to completion - securing Building Regulations approval, specifying and tendering the works, and managing the build on site.
